DHAKA, Feb. 16 (Xinhua) -- A group of 312 Bangladeshis who were evacuated on a special flight on Feb. 1 from coronavirus epicenter Wuhan have spoken out after being released from a 14-day quarantine in their country, expressing their belief that China will beat and recover from the COVID-19 outbreak.

All of them have been released from a 14-day quarantine in the capital of Dhaka, according to a statement from the head of the country's institute of epidemiology released Sunday.

Fahim Al Faysal, a Bangladeshi student at the Hubei University of Technology, told Xinhua on Friday that China is "doing quite well" in fighting the novel coronavirus, particularly after he witnessed how Wuhan, a city with a population of over 10 million, suspended outbound public transportation on Jan. 23 to prevent the spread of the virus.

"This step was so good. Their best step was building the quarantine hospital in just 10 days with 1,000 beds" with "all the medical equipment that will help fight against coronavirus," he said, referring to the makeshift Huoshenshan Hospital.

Besides Huoshenshan, Wuhan has built another makeshift hospital called Leishenshan, which can accommodate 1,600 beds. It received its first batch of patients infected with the virus on Feb. 8.

Faysal added he believes that due to the unity of the Chinese people, there's no need to worry.

"Chinese people are working together, and they trust each other. That's the main thing. China already has taken all the big steps to prevent the virus," he said.

"This virus is serious, but we shouldn't panic now," Faysal added.

Alamgir Hossen, a PhD student at Huazhong University of Science and Technology, was also among the 312 evacuees.

"So far, I think China has taken good initiative on the preventive measures of COVID-19," Hossen told Xinhua.

Having been living in China for the past three and a half years, Hossen expressed his hopes that China would recover soon from the epidemic.

"Wuhan is a lovely city to live in ... Most of my Chinese friends have great souls," he said.

Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Wazed recently said that China's efforts have effectively contained the spread of the virus, and she thanked Beijing for taking care of the large number of Bangladeshi nationals in China at this difficult time.
